As a Principal and a founding partner of Newmark Realty Capital, Mitch has helped guide the firm from its creation in 1991 to its position today as one of the largest, privately-owned mortgage banking firms in the country. Mitch consistently produces high loan volumes working with Newmark’s correspondent life insurance companies, other life insurance companies, banks and SBA sources, Fannie/Freddie/HUD apartment programs, and Wall Street/CMBS.
With over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and consulting, Mitch has long-standing relationships with numerous commercial real estate and lending professionals, and always looks forward to expanding his network. Mitch enjoys solving puzzles and analyzing problems, and strives to understand the details of his clients’ transactions and goals, and obtain the best solutions for them.
Mitch began his career in commercial real estate as an Associate with Gladstone Associates in Washington, D.C. where he consulted to public and private-sector clients on assignments including feasibility studies, appraisals, and market and financial analyses. Mitch then completed Wells Fargo Bank’s management training program and worked as a Commercial Lender in Wells Fargo Bank’s San Francisco headquarters office. He subsequently was Vice President and Regional Manager of Sanwa Bank’s Walnut Creek regional construction lending office. Prior to co-founding Newmark Realty Capital in 1991, he worked with the San Francisco mortgage banking office of Norris, Beggs & Simpson.
Mitch is a member of the Bay Area, California and national mortgage banking associations. Mitch is a board member of the Chartered Realty Investor Society (http://www.crisociety.org/). He also participates in the Strategic Mortgage Alliance, LLC (“SAM”), a national organization of over 20 independently-owned commercial mortgage firms having 49 offices throughout the United States.
Mitch received a B.A. cum laude from Cornell University, majoring in economics. He also has a Masters degree in City and Regional Planning from Harvard University.
